In 2022, RES4Africa celebrates its 10-year anniversary, a milestone representing a decade of effort at the service of Africa’s energy transition.
Such a landmark will be celebrated on the 24th of May 2022, together with all RES4Africa’s members, partners and supporters all over the world, with the special event Setting Priorities for Africa’s Sustainable Energy Transition. The physical meeting will be hosted in Rome, and it will also be offered in a digital format to ensure wider participation from all the globe.
This special gathering represents an opportunity to look back and highlight the Foundation’s track record of achievements, providing a platform to show a RES4Africa-perspective on barriers to RE development in Africa and the Mediterranean, how we have been working to overcome them and identify ways forward for the coming years.
The event will witness the publication of RES4Africa 10th year Anniversary Flagship, Sustainable Electricity for a Prosperous Africa, developed in collaboration with Enel Foundation: the report reflects upon the Foundation’s journey throughout the years, tracking the record of promoting renewable energy investments in the emerging markets across Sub-Saharan Africa and the Med region, while giving an overview of current Africa’s key energy challenges. It also outlines key upcoming decisions and the current narrative regarding energy transitions in Africa.
Additionaly, during the event, the new RES4Africa’s Advisory Board will be presented.
