Celebrating World Earth Day with Women's Energy to Save the Planet: RES4Africa Discusses Gender Perspectives in Africa's Renewable Energy Sector

On the 25th of April, during the celebration of World Earth Day at the Village for the Earth of Villa Borghese, RES4Africa participated in the talk Women's Energy to Save the Planet in the framework of the No Women, No Panel, organised by Rai Per la Sostenibilita.

The discussion focused on gender perspectives in the fight against climate change, with a special focus on Africa; it also shed light on the current context of Africa’s renewable energy sector, the roles of women, and the barriers they face when entering and advancing in the sector. Additionally, the experts engaged in discussions about the different measures that can be taken to promote gender equality, such as adapting training and capacity building, attracting and retaining talent, implementing gender mainstreaming, and strengthening the visibility of the role women play in the energy transition.
