19th June 2023 – Today RES4Africa kicked off the executive training course “Powering North Africa’s and Eastern Mediterranean Sustainable Development”, organised in collaboration with the Scuola Nazionale dell’Amministrazione (SNA), the University of Naples Federico II and the support of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
The training will be hosted until the 23rd June in the prestigious framework of Caserta’s Royal Palace in Italy, and it is addressed to 36 high-level managers, institutional representatives, and other high-level professionals from 6 MENA countries (Libya, Lebanon, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, and Egypt), who were provided with a full scholarship.
The purpose of the initiative is to support Northern Africa’s and Middle East’s efforts to effectively fight climate hazards and to achieve their renewable energy goals, by providing the participants with a set of technical, economic, and regulatory core competencies related to the energy transition. All the lectures were delivered by professors from University Federico II and from RES4Africa’s network of members. Even more remarkably, the gathering represents a one-of-a-kind occasion to create strategic networks and to stimulate exchange of knowledge and best practices, between key actors of countries characterised by a variety of different peculiarities.
Such a purpose will be also served by providing the attendees with the chance of experiencing together some local top-notch realities: today, they visited the Royal Apartment and English Garden, two renowned masterpieces of the Royal Palace. Finally, on the 22nd July, they will enjoy field experiences at FAAM’s factory of lithium batteries (located in Teverola), and at a 5 MW PV plant managed by Nextenergy Capital, in Marcianise.
