Rome, 3rd of July 2024- RES4Africa Foundation is proud to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the SADC Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (SACREEE), further strengthening its mission to promote renewable energy development and sustainability across Africa through a comprehensive network of sectoral stakeholders.

Since its inception in 2012, RES4Africa has been dedicated to supporting Africa’s just energy transition and ensuring access to sustainable electricity for all. By bringing together member entities and companies operating in various fields of the renewable energy market, RES4Africa aims to accelerate the global shift towards renewable energy sources. The expertise of SACREEE in regional energy initiatives will significantly contribute to achieving these goals.

SACREEE plays a pivotal role in promoting market-based adoption of renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies and services in the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region. It facilitates the development and implementation of projects and programs aimed at increasing the share of renewable energy in the regional energy mix and improving energy efficiency. This partnership with RES4Africa aligns with SACREEE's mission to foster a sustainable and climate-resilient energy future for the SADC region.

The collaboration between RES4Africa and SACREEE will focus on several key areas, including enhancing policy, regulatory, and institutional frameworks to support renewable energy and energy efficiency, promoting investment in renewable energy projects and initiatives, facilitating capacity building and knowledge sharing among stakeholders, and supporting the development and deployment of innovative renewable energy technologies.

The inclusion of SACREEE as a strategic partner reinforces RES4Africa Foundation's efforts to accelerate renewable energy adoption and promote sustainable development in Africa. Their commitment will be instrumental in driving positive change, fostering collaboration, and empowering the continent with clean, accessible, and affordable energy solutions.
