RAISEAfrica 2026: Meet the Selected Entrepreneurs

RES4Africa Foundation is proud to introduce the six innovative entrepreneurs selected for the third edition of RAISEAfrica – Renewables Accelerator for Innovative Startups and Entrepreneurs in Africa. Building on the experience and achievements of its previous editions, the programme continues to support promising African startups and entrepreneurs in developing innovative solutions for the continent’s energy transition.

Developd by RES4Africa Foundation, with the support of Enel Green Power and the European Investment Bank, and delivered in partnership with EY Foundation, EDP Renewables, and SAICA Enterprise Development (SAICA ED), RAISEAfrica is designed to help emerging African innovators turn promising ideas into scalable solutions.

Through mentorship, technical guidance, exposure, and connections with a wider entrepreneurial and energy ecosystem, the programme helps entrepreneurs strengthen their businesses and accelerate solutions tackling some of the continent’s most pressing challenges – from energy access and sustainable mobility to circular economy, agriculture, and healthcare.

Meet the 2026 Entrepreneurs

Abdulmalik Badamasi (Nigeria, 33)
As CEO and Co-founder of Powerbox Energy Systems, Abdulmalik is working to make dependable electricity more accessible to homes and small businesses in Nigeria. His company designs and manufactures affordable solar hybrid power systems, combining engineering expertise with an entrepreneurial approach to develop practical solutions for underserved communities.

Farah Emara (Egypt, 35)
Farah is Co-founder of FreshSource, a technology-driven B2B platform transforming fresh produce supply chains across the MENA region. Among its latest innovations is a solar-powered cold storage solution integrated into the existing supply chain, helping tackle post-harvest losses while making food distribution more energy-efficient.

Emmanuel Kasengele (Zambia, 25)
Emmanuel founded Royal Flow Energy with the ambition of bringing continuous, reliable electricity to off-grid communities. His flagship innovation, Riverbox, is a proprietary micro-hydro turbine capable of delivering 24/7 power without relying on fuel or batteries. The technology is now being piloted in rural Zambia, with the potential to be scaled across underserved areas.

Pacifique Nezerwa (Rwanda, 26)
Pacifique is Co-founder and CEO of Olamove, a clean energy company addressing the intersection of energy and mobility in Rwanda. Through OlaEnergy, its circular economy initiative, the company gives retired EV batteries a second life as backup and solar storage systems. Olamove also designs and assembles electric motorbikes locally, contributing to a more integrated clean mobility ecosystem.

Christine Njuguna (Kenya, 30)
A horticulturist and founder of Seta Farm, Christine is turning agricultural waste into an opportunity for sustainable livelihoods. Her circular bioeconomy model transforms crop residues into mushroom-growing kits, using the natural heat generated through composting to reduce reliance on wood fuel. The approach enables women and young people to establish income-generating mushroom enterprises while reducing waste and emissions.

Derick Nwasor (Nigeria, 34)
Physicist and Co-founder of Newdigit, Derick is exploring the potential of advanced technologies to tackle Nigeria’s energy and healthcare challenges. His work combines quantum spin and artificial intelligence to optimise regenerative fuel cell technologies capable of supplying both clean electricity and medical oxygen to healthcare communities that lack reliable access to these essential services.

From decentralised power and clean mobility to agricultural innovation and healthcare, the 2026 RAISEAfrica cohort reflects the breadth and creativity of Africa’s emerging clean-tech ecosystem. Their solutions demonstrate how locally driven entrepreneurship can contribute to a more resilient, inclusive, and sustainable energy future across the continent.

RES4Africa and its partners look forward to accompanying these entrepreneurs as they develop their businesses, strengthen their solutions, and bring their ideas closer to scale.
