After two years of a pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic restriction, RES4Africa resumes its in-person presence, with its first event Kenya Renewable Energy Exchange. The physical gathering will take place in Nairobi, Kenya, at the Radisson Blu Hotel, on the 11th of May 2022 at 09:30 AM – 16:30 PM.
The event will be dedicated to Kenya's renewable energy sector and it will be the first of a series aiming to unpack crucial topics affecting the growth and development of the country’s green energy and electricity sector. In light of the recent developments in Kenya's regulatory structure, such as planned reductions in electricity tariffs, the adoption of procurement auctions, and private involvement in grid development, the event will focus in particular on the ideal policy and regulatory approaches to ensure the smooth adoption of an auction or tender program for the procurement of renewable energy generation, as well as the assessment of necessary adaptations for the integration of battery storage into the grid. On this occasion, a new initiative dedicated to Kenya’s renewable energy sector, carried out in collaboration with Electricity Sector Association of Kenya (ESAK) will be inaugurated.
The event is open for the public and specially the kenyan renewable energy community is strongly encouraged to participate.
