RES4Africa Foundation, together with its partners -Strathmore University, AVSI Foundation, Kenya Power and Lighting Company, St. Kizito VTI, EACREEE and AWEEF, is launching the 24th Micro-Grid Academy training edition, with the support of Enel Foundation. The course will be held online, on 11-13 and 17–19 of May 2022.
The main purpose of the course is to enable a sustainable development of decentralised renewable energy systems, by providing the students with a comprehensive overview of the MGA-Module 2 on Decentralised Renewable Energy - Site Selection, demand assessment, and Engineering, together with a focus on soft and business skills.
Target of the training will be about 120 technicians, students, operators, entrepreneurs, and REs professionals from African States; female and young participants from East African countries are particularly encouraged to apply.
The course will be delivered via video e-lectures, working groups and case studies - and complemented, if possible, by one or more field visits at St. Kizito’s mini-grid facility in Nairobi, at the Strathmore University Research Center, and at other facilities in Ethiopia or Uganda.
Upon successful completion of the training, the participants will receive a certificate of attendance, which will be granted to the trainees who will have attended at least 70% of the total amount of training hours, and who will have successfully taken the final exam and survey.
