On 9 September 2025, RES4Africa Foundation, in collaboration with the European Investment Bank (EIB), will host Masterclass D titled Market Design and Financing Tools for a Sustainable Deployment of Green Hydrogen in Windhoek, Namibia (Avani Windhoek Hotel & Casino, Room Sossusvlei – Ground Floor, from 14:00 to 17:45).
Namibia’s abundant solar and wind resources place the country at the forefront of the emerging global green hydrogen market. Realising this potential goes beyond deploying technology: it requires a clear and well-structured regulatory framework, innovative financing models, and tailored research to build a resilient and bankable hydrogen ecosystem.
The Masterclass will take place in the framework of the Global African Hydrogen Summit (9–11 September 2025, Windhoek, Namibia), held under the patronage and hosted by the Government of Namibia, endorsed by the Ministry of Industries, Mines & Energy, in partnership with the Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board (NIPDB), and supported by the Namibia Green Hydrogen Programme (NGH2P). Themed Ambition in Action: Fuelling Africa’s Green Industrial Revolution, the three-day Summit will convene heads of state, ministers, business leaders, project developers, investors, technologists, and end users from across Africa and around the globe to drive partnerships and critical investments into bankable green energy projects of strategic and national importance.
The Masterclass will convene engineers, financiers, and academic experts for a focused dialogue on how to structure reliable supply systems, design effective financing frameworks, and position Namibia within regional and global hydrogen value chains. Speakers will include representatives from the University of Namibia, RINA, the European Investment Bank, the World Bank, and Riis.
Through interactive sessions and a final Hydrogen Innovation Lab: Co-Creating Namibia’s Green Hydrogen Future & Wrap-Up, participants will collaborate across disciplines to map solutions and identify priority actions that can accelerate project development and ecosystem growth.
Key highlights include:
• System design for reliable supply, ensuring Namibia’s renewable resources can be integrated into robust hydrogen production and delivery systems.
• Business models and financial structuring, offering practical tools and insights to advance hydrogen projects toward bankability and investment readiness.
• Regional integration and green hydrogen corridors, positioning Namibia as a strategic player in Southern Africa’s energy future.
Registration is required to secure a place. We warmly invite professionals, experts, and stakeholders interested in shaping Namibia’s green hydrogen future to join this interactive session and contribute their perspectives.
