On 30th January 2025, RES4Africa Foundation will host the 14th AM-Powering Connexions, an online gathering dedicated to reviewing and reflecting on 10 years of renewable energy development in Southern Africa.
The session, based on insights from the “Connecting the Dots” study developed with Enel Green Power, will examine the region’s socio-economic dynamics, its vulnerability to climate change, and the opportunities and challenges of transitioning to green energy.
Discussions will focus on the progress achieved over the past decade, including advancements in renewable energy capacity and governance improvements, while identifying persistent barriers such as regulatory challenges, investment risks, and challenges in the development of an integrated energy market. Building on these insights, the session will propose actionable recommendations to accelerate the transition to affordable, reliable, and sustainable energy systems that benefit all.
