Milan, 21st Nov 2022 – Today, RES4Africa Foundation inaugurated the 2022 edition of the Advanced Training Course (ATC), its flagship training programme addressed to institutional and high-level managers and profiles operating in the African renewable energy sector and a new category of participants, covering Ph.D. students and researchers from Italian Universities. The training is carried out in partnership with Enel Foundation, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the European Investment Bank, in collaboration with Politecnico di Milano Graduate School of Management and SDA Bocconi and leveraging on Res4Africa members testimonials.
For the 2022 edition, 56 out of 1,150 applicants among professionals and managers from public institutions, national authorities, energy companies, implementing agencies, research institutions and civil society organizations were selected and provided with a full scholarship. The trainees represent 13 African countries, including Algeria, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Morocco, Mauritania, Mozambique, Senegal, South Africa, Tunisia, Tanzania and Zambia.
The opening session counted on the participation of (in order of intervention) RES4Africa Secretary General Roberto Vigotti, Ana Rovzar (Head of International Partnerships at RES4Africa Foundation), Vittorio Chiesa (Chairman at Politecnico di Milano Graduate School of Management), Alessio Nasca (Politecnico di Milano Graduate School of Management), and Angela Maria Racca (TAGES).
The main goal of the ATC is to enrich local ownership of sustainable projects, opening new REs-related job opportunities and improving local skills. All lessons are delivered by experienced managers, professionals, academics and high-skilled technicians. The 22 edition will be made up of 10 days of lectures that, starting from today, will be held in Milan until the 2nd of December, focusing on economic and regulatory frameworks of African energy markets, for an efficient and effective deployment of renewable sources in the continent.
