Milan, 6th Nov 2023 – Today, RES4Africa Foundation inaugurated the 2023 edition of RES4Africa Academy Executive School, its flagship training programme addressed to institutional and high-level managers and profiles operating in the African renewable energy sector. The training is carried out in partnership with the Enel Foundation, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the European Investment Bank, in collaboration with Politecnico di Milano Graduate School of Management and SDA Bocconi and leveraging on RES4Africa members testimonials.
For the 10th edition, 40 professionals and managers from public institutions, national authorities, energy companies, implementing agencies, research institutions, and civil society organisations were selected and provided with a full scholarship. The trainees represent 14 African countries, including Algeria, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Morocco, Mozambique, Senegal, South Africa, Tunisia, Zimbawe, Namibia, Ivory Coast, and Uganda.
The opening session counted on the participation of (in order of intervention) RES4Africa’s Secretary General Roberto Vigotti, Darlain Edeme (Africa Energy Analyst - Energy Modelling Office), Vittorio Chiesa (Chairman at Politecnico di Milano Graduate School of Management), Simone Franzò (Politecnico di Milano Graduate School of Management Grand challenges) Davide Chiaroni(Politecnico di Milano Graduate School of Management), Angela Maria Racca, (Head Of Investor Relations & Sustainability at Tages Capital SGR).
The main goal of the Executive School is to enrich local ownership of sustainable projects, opening new REs-related job opportunities, and improving local skills. All lessons are delivered by experienced managers, professionals, academics, and high-skilled technicians. This year's edition will be made up of 10 days of lectures that, starting from today, will be held in Milan until the 17th of November, focusing on economic and regulatory frameworks of African energy markets, for an efficient and effective deployment of renewable sources in the renewable sources in the continent.
