Milan, 24 November 2025 – RES4Africa Foundation today inaugurated the 2025 edition of the RES4Africa Executive School in Milan, its flagship institutional capacity-building programme dedicated to the empowerment of the next generation of African leaders in the renewable energy and sustainable electrification sector. in partnership with the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Enel Foundation, and the European Investment Bank (EIB) and in collaboration with SDA Bocconi and POLIMI Graduate School of Management, the Executive School marks its twelfth edition in 2025.
The initiative builds on RES4Africa’s long-standing commitment to strengthening human capital—an essential driver of Africa’s just, green, and inclusive energy transition. Through the RES4Africa Academy, the Foundation has prioritised knowledge transfer as a key enabler of sustainable development, offering hands-on technical and managerial training that leverages the expertise of its diverse network.
Running from 24 November to 5 December, this year’s programme brings together 40 high-level managers from across Africa, providing multidisciplinary training designed to equip them with the skills and vision needed to shape the continent’s energy future.
This year’s edition features two strategic thematic focuses:
• Electrification of final uses, with a special emphasis on e-mobility. As electric mobility rapidly expands across many African countries—especially two- and three-wheelers and electric buses—the programme examines the implications for energy systems, infrastructure, planning and policy.
• The role of women in the energy transition. Dedicated sessions highlight the importance of boosting women’s participation across the entire energy value chain, from STEM careers to entrepreneurship and leadership roles.
The curriculum combines academic insights with applied expertise from RES4Africa’s members and partners, covering topics such as renewable technology developments, grid integration, energy storage, investment evaluation, auctions, project finance, regulation, and de-risking tools. Participants will also take part in field visits to leading industry facilities, including CESI, NIDEC, Prysmian and ABB.
By empowering local talent with multidisciplinary knowledge and practical skills, the Executive School reinforces RES4Africa’s mission to support sustainable local ownership, job creation and long-term development of renewable energy markets across the continent.
The programme will conclude on 5 December with a closing session featuring contributions from representatives of the Task Force for the Implementation of the Mattei plan of the Italian Government, Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the European Investment Bank, Enel Green Power, Enel Foundation, SDA Bocconi, and RES4Africa’s leadership.
