On the 13th of October RES4Africa will host the half-day event Innovation and sustainability in the Mediterranean as pathways to decarbonization, in the framework of the international gathering zeroEmission Mediterranean 2022. The discussion will be focused on the role of innovation in the energy transition of MED countries, outlining how the Water-Energy-Food Nexus can catalyse sustainable development.
The Mediterranean energy sector has experienced a fast-paced deployment of renewable solutions, during the past 10 years. Major regulatory advancements have been introduced, favouring a scale-up the deployment of REs sources, and a growth of the related market. However, in order to achieve satisfactory decarbonisation levels, MENA countries should adapt their energy systems to the new challenges generated by climate change (In terms of water, energy and food security), while further investing on innovation and technology.
These and other topics will be the core of event, which will propose panels and dialogues moderated by experts and professionals from RES4Africa's network.
