5 youths from the MASEM master presented the outcomes of the field project “What Does It Take 2.0”

Today, 5 students from the Master in Sustainability and Energy Management from the Bocconi University (MASEM) presented the final results of the project  "What Does It Take 2.0".

RES4Africa has taken a proactive stance on the role played by youth in Africa's energy transition, carving its projects and initiatives on the needs of the young generations thanks to the actions belonging to the RES4Youth workstream.

Among them, the field project with Bocconi University is one of the earliest instances: every year, a team of students from Bocconi’s MASEM Master works closely on selected research topics with experts from RES4Africa and its network. In 2022, their objective was to apply the analytical framework of the What Does It Take and Missing Link projects to regulation regarding private investment in the generation of renewable energy. The students collected data from 3 selected countries: Algeria, Tanzania, and Côte d'Ivoire.

Finally, the participating youths identified key recommendations to increase the openness, attractiveness, and readiness of the considered RE-related regulatory frameworks, which were presented today before the experts who supported the project.

Such a task was carried out with the collaboration and mentorship of experts from RES4Africa's network (UNECA, Enel Green Power, Enel Infrastructures & Network, and AFRY).
